HAX06 Setup Guide

Before you start

  • Use only TV HDMI ARC or eARCIf your TV has eARC, turn eARC off.
  • Not for regular HDMI, Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, laptop or monitor HDMIConnect streaming devices to the TV.
  • TV speakers may mute after connectionThis is normal HDMI ARC behavior.

Setup

Connect your TV, then choose how to listen

1 · TV

Connect HAX06 to your TV

  1. Connect HAX06 USB-C power to a 5V/1A supply.
  2. Connect TV HDMI ARC/eARC → HAX06 HDMI ARC IN.

Use the TV port labeled ARC or eARC, not a regular HDMI port.

Done The HAX06 power light is solid red.

If not Check the USB power supply and cable. No TV ARC port? Ask Support.

Using a streaming box or game console?

Connect it to another HDMI input on the TV.

How will you use HAX06?

3 · Volume Control

Control the volume

Use the TV remote for volume.

Works with this setup:

TV (HDMI ARC) → HAX06 → HDMI ARC Out → soundbar / AV receiver

  • Enable HDMI-CEC on your TV and soundbar / AV receiver.
  • Use the TV remote to control the soundbar / AV receiver volume.
Not supported when using:
  • Optical Out
  • RCA Out

CEC only works with HDMI-connected devices.

Fix a problem

What is happening?

HDMI works, but Optical / RCA has no sound

Possible cause: TV eARC or audio format is incompatible with the HAX06 analog and optical outputs.

  1. Turn TV eARC OFF.
  2. Set Digital Audio Format to PCM.
  3. Restart the TV and test again.

Done: Sound plays through the connected Optical or RCA device.

No sound from HAX06

Possible cause: Wrong TV HDMI port, ARC setting, or HAX06 Bypass position.

  1. Connect TV HDMI ARC/eARC → HAX06 HDMI ARC IN.
  2. Turn TV ARC and HDMI-CEC ON; turn eARC OFF.
  3. Set PCM for Optical/RCA. Set HAX06 Bypass OFF for Optical/RCA only, or ON when also using HDMI ARC OUT.

Done: Your connected listening device plays TV sound.

Full HAX06 no-sound solution ↗
TV has no sound until PCM is selected

Possible cause: TV digital audio format is not set to PCM for HAX06 Optical or RCA output.

  1. Open TV Settings → Sound / Audio.
  2. Choose HDMI ARC / Receiver as TV sound output.
  3. Set Digital Audio Format → PCM.

Done: The TV shows PCM, and your connected device plays sound.
