Plug in C82 Aura

Plug C82 Aura into your device’s USB-C audio port.

Port and light help

White is the correct light.Orange must be changed to white before hearing aids can join.

OrangeHearing aids cannot joinHold the oval side MFB for 6 seconds to switch to white. Then search again.

Play audio

On computers, select Avantree C82 Aura as sound output.
Play audio in a media app.

Phone / computer help

C82 Aura missing? Reconnect it, then reopen sound settings.

Windows: Settings → System → Sound → Output → Avantree C82 Aura.
Mac: System Settings → Sound → Output → Avantree C82 Aura.
USB-C phone / tablet: Connect C82 Aura and play media. If audio stays on the device, check its USB audio output selection and USB audio support.

Hearing aids

Join the C82 Aura broadcast

Before searching, check that C82 Aura has a solid white light. If it is orange, switch to white.

Turn on your hearing aids.
Open your hearing-aid app, or Auracast Assistant on a supported Android phone.
Select C82 Aura from the Auracast broadcast list.

Join withYour hearing-aid brand app, or an Android phone that supports Auracast Assistant.

Do not useThe phone’s ordinary Bluetooth pairing list.

Broadcast renamed or asking for a password?

Select the custom name in your hearing aid app. If prompted, enter the broadcast passcode.

Check or change both in Avantree Updater → Advanced.

Listen

Set a comfortable listening volume

While audio plays, raise the volume slowly in your media app (such as YouTube, Spotify, or VLC) or hearing-aid app.

Computer volume: The system volume does not control C82 Aura.

Optional listening mode

Use your phone as a microphone

Hear nearby speech through your Auracast hearing aids.

Example: Hear a server more clearly in a noisy restaurant.

Requires A USB-C phone with USB audio, C82 Aura, and Auracast hearing aids.

Install a voice-amplifier app on your phone.
iPhone: Megaphone ↗Android: Microphone Amplifier ↗
Plug C82 Aura into your phone’s USB-C audio port.
Set the app’s input to your phone’s microphone, not USB. In Megaphone, choose Phone Microphone.
Join C82 Aura in your hearing-aid app’s Auracast list when its light is white.
Speak into your phone’s microphone, or place it near the speaker.

Done You hear nearby speech through your hearing aids.

If not Check that the voice-amplifier app uses the phone’s microphone as input.

Firmware update

Update C82 Aura

Download the Firmware Update Tool on a Windows/Mac computer.
Plug C82 Aura directly into your computer’s USB-C port. For a USB-A computer, use a compatible USB-A adapter (not included).
Open the Firmware Update Tool.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Keep C82 Aura connected until it says Complete.

After updating: reset C82 Aura.

Rename & encrypt

Customize the Auracast broadcast

Connect C82 Aura to a computer and open Avantree Updater.

Rename: In Advanced, edit Broadcast Name, then click Click to apply settings.
Encrypt: Select Encrypted (User-defined), enter a passcode, then apply settings.

Done Rejoin the new broadcast name; enter the passcode if encrypted.

If not Check the broadcast name and passcode in Advanced, then rejoin.
